World Dance Day

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul ”. Dancers are the individuals who speak a language of secrecy, one that enables them to seek freedom, and live their life beyond limits. Dancers are the ones who paint a story with their body. Dancers are the ones who dream with their feet. Dancers are those who know that dancing with your feet is one thing, while dancing with your heart is another. In Indian culture, every state has its dance form. Maharashtra is known for Lawani, Tamilnadu is known for Bharatnatyam, Kerala is known for Kathakali etc. 29th April is known as International Dance Day. This event celebrates the joy of dancing. Zebar School for Children celebrated World Dance Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The day was introduced in 1982 by the International Dance Committee of the UNESCO, International Theatre Institute. The day was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Jean George’s Noverre, a French dancer. Zebar School marked this day with special dance performances staged in a special assembly. The students from grades 8th, 9th and 10th, showcased their talent through various dance forms across the world like Locking and Popping, Contemporary dance forms, and Indian classical dance form Kathak and Bharatnatyam. Students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the foot tapping music along with exquisite dance forms. Our Vice-Principal Secondary school Ms. Reena Kahlon applauded the efforts of the students and said that dance is an art form which helps in expressing the emotions of life and relaxes the mind, body and the soul.
